Alone
Written by Bonita Gilyard

alone_in_church_prayingIn my state of being alone I've come to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. In order for me to obtain this personal relationship with God it was necessary for me to be alone, totally dependent on Christ, in constant fellowship with Him and obedient to His word which is the secret of faith. In order to come to Christ you must first believe that He is and He is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him.

I was too busy focusing on the things in the natural, never the spiritual.  Nevertheless, I've come to realize that the natural things of this world will one day come to an end where as the spiritual things of God are eternal and will never end.  In my state of being alone I've come to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. In order for me to obtain this personal relationship with God it was necessary for me to be alone, totally dependent on Christ, in constant fellowship with Him and obedient to His word, which is the secret of faith. In order to come to Christ, you must first believe that He is, and He is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him.

With that in mind, I will continue seeking the Lord with all my heart, mind, body and soul so that I can one day be united with my eternal Father in glory.  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. You see, in Him there is life and life more abundantly. That is the type of life that I want; that which is divine and everlasting.

For I know without a shadow of a doubt that my redeemer lives, because He's inside of me. So, how can I be alone?  Being alone is a state of mind.  Just as Jesus broke bread, (symbolic of spiritual bread, which was the Word of God) with His disciples; He has a way of breaking us up and then putting us back together again.  In doing so, the creator has created a new creature. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a   new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

I just want to thank God for walking in the newness of life, which is the way of Holiness.  "Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."  I've come to one conclusion; I'm not alone after all!! And neither are you.

We are never alone and God tells us to'Be still and Know.' I came to realize that the 'Know' part was to Know God more. The more we are still, alone with Him, the more we will be able to hear His voice and to come know God in a greater way, His ways, His mind, His desire for us. It is a place that all who desire to know God more will find themselves even though some get there earlier than others but it is the best place to be and yes, God does reward us for our obedience to His command to 'Be Still and Know'.
